Q – I have typed myself and my horse, but I’m not sure where to find what is a good type combo between human and horse? If you could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

A – What type are you and what do you want to do with a horse?

Q – I’m a wood and I trail ride only.

A – As a Wood you probably like to explore new and more challenging trails. You might love a Wood or Wood combo. The Wood/Fire loves new and challenging trails but they can be sensitive as well so you will need to develop your sensitive side. The Fire/Wood loves a challenge but will want to keep moving along and won’t be great if you like to ride some with others who don’t want to go fast.

Q – Ok, my horse is a metal/fire… and I was wrong, I am a water/wood combo. Is this workable for us?

A – We all have aspects of each type but I don’t have a category for Metal/Fire or Water/Wood. For yourself do you feel you are more bold or fearful when you ride? For your horse, is he more relationship or job oriented?

Q – I’m more bold than fearful and my mare is more relationship oriented.

A – You can still make it work with your mare if you remember to praise her when she steps up to your level of adventure. A Fire horse can be bold also but not as tough as a Wood or Metal type so steep hills or deep footing could be harder for a Fire type. Enjoy.

Q – Thanks for the help!!

A – You are sure welcome. Would love to have updates on how it goes with your mare.

Q – We had a great weekend camping. She was very brave and did well with the situations we came across. I was extremely pleased with how level headed she was this time.

A – Wonderful. Just like people horses appreciate being understood.
