Do you ever feel like the journey is just too hard and there is no end or rest in sight? I used to feel this way all the time. I used to think the solution to everything was to do more. I worked and worked until I could not work anymore. Then I usually got sick then when I recovered I went back to work.
A few years ago, my business coach encouraged me to take a few minutes each morning to get quiet and listen for God to give me direction. This was almost impossible for me but I started taking about 5 minutes and then 10 and then 30 and to my surprise my life started going more smoothly.
Now I spend closer to an hour each morning to give thanks, ask for guidance and let God set my agenda for the day. If for some reason I am unable to take this time I really miss it. What I don’t miss it the frantic schedule I used to have and the slower pace allows me to listen for that still, small voice throughout the day.
Of course, God is in everywhere and speaks to us in many ways but when he really wants to tell us something important he whispers. Madalyn
…”And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still, small voice.”
